Prepare mate Brazilian.
Mate, simply Brazilian.
Whether in Argentina, Uruguay, Brazil, or anywhere else in the world, there are many ways to prepare mate. Mate lemonade, as it's often drunk in Germany, is neither the beginning nor the end of mate culture. In this video, we'll show you a preparation method that's frequently used in Brazil. It's quick, the infusions are easy to control, and the mate can be beautifully decorated.
The bowl of the cuia, as this type of mate cup is called, offers plenty of space for decoration. Herbs, flowers, spices, or paintings can all find their place there.
Indulge your creativity and savor the taste and beauty of Brazilian mate artistry. Even without creative talent or a diploma in mate preparation, your mate will be beautiful.
And the best part: This preparation is so simple that absolutely anyone can do it, even half asleep in the morning.
Mate cup, mate drinking straw and the appropriate variety.
Have you developed a taste for it?
Then you don't need much: choose a cuia and a suitable mate drinking straw. Mate drinking straws with a length of 19 cm fit our cuias best. If they are too short, the edge of the plate might get in the way while drinking; if they are too long, you might get caught on them, and the mate will tip over.
For this preparation method, we recommend Yerba or Erva Mate. A variety containing both powder and stems is more suitable, as these ensure a certain stability of the mate.
All sorts of blossoms are suitable for decorating and mixing with the Erva. I like to use rose petals, catnip, or marigolds. In winter, cinnamon, apple, and anise also work very well.
